Default Ruger LC6 Trigger...

Has anyone had the opportunity to shoot the new Ruger Hawkeye with the LC6 trigger, if so what is your opinion of it. I ordered the all weather Hawkeye in 35 Whelen and it should be here in a day or so. I just wanted to here opinions on it before spending any money on an aftermarket trigger. Any input will be appreciated.

It's an improvement but still not 100% terrific... IMO. If you want a 2.5 # trigger this won't be it. It could be smoothed up a bit though. BTW, mine is on a Hawkeye Compact in 7mm-08 that I just picked up for my wife. Also, the bolt and safety were rather stiff but they ease up considerably with use. +1 on your selection of the .35 Whelen. Keep us posted as to how you like it and how it does. I myself have been looking in that direction.

Spoke with the dealer, should be in on Monday or Tuesday according to the tracking info. I guess I ll have to shoot it and decide. My 270 WSM trigger was replaced with a Rifle Basix set right at 2.5 lbs. I can deal with a 3-4 lb trigger as long is it is clean.

Those triggers are ridiculously simple to slick up, and usually at a much cheaper price than totally replacing it with an aftermarket trigger. See your local gunsmith for a trigger/action job if necessary.

I have the AW Hawk in .280.It's not perfect but it's a very good trigger just the same. You'd never be able to convince me you missed because of it!
