Default How accurate is 270WSM?

I was looking at the forum of range trips on the Short Mag site and it seems some people were having a problem with the getting the Winchester ammo to group or maybe not as well as they would like. I need to order my rifle by the end of May and still have not made a solid chioce yet as I had a 270 Win before that shot great. Anyone else here have any problems with the ammo for the 270 WSM? Thanks for any info.

My local gun shop, in the middle of no-where, .270WSM Ballistic Silver Tip, 21.99. I hear it' s around the same at Wal-Mart and Gander Mountain, but didn' t need anymore for right now. 21.99 seems pretty cheap for decent ammo.

I visit the shortmag site daily and the majority have great success with factory ammo. The only selection i have near me on the 270 wsm is the 130gr ballistic tip and the 150gr power point. I wish i could try the 140gr failsafe but i havent seen them around me yet. I picked up a box of the 130gr for a lil over 25$ with tax. Its not that bad ill let u know how it shoots when i head to the range around May 7th. Ive seen some great targets with the 270 wsm from more than 1 person.

I bought the .270 WSM about 4 months ago and couldn' t be more pleased with the results. I haven' t had any problems getting super groups. Not real sure about the availability of the ammo...I get it from a local gunshop and the owner orders it whenever i need.

I got the 270 WSM in a Browning stalker the first of the year and a box of the WIN 130 gr and 150 gr,both shot very accurate, but I wanted to reload my own and it was hard to beat the factory loads, but so far I think I have what I wanted.
Went to the range a few days ago with some 130 gr reloads (12 bullets) Trying to quote the groups from memeroy but you can look it up on the short mag site.
100 yds .328 200yds .997 300 yds 1.825 so I would say they are pretty darn accurate,if I go back again and it gets close to these groups I will be tickled.

I' m extremely pleased with the 270WSM. I' m shooting a mod 70 synthetic. I have achieved great handload groups, but factory ammo was not too shabby. I actually found the Winchester 150 gr factories to shoot the best out of my rifle(7/8" ). My 130 gr handloads were 1/2 to 5/8. I believe with a little more trigger work and some bedding, one jagged hole is possible.

I stand corrected, 25.99 at my local gun-shop.

Depends on the rifle, not the cartridge....
