It's true. Hugo Vivero of Wilson Arms bought Cooper Firearms of Montana on Jan 07, 2009. Apparently, after Dan Cooper P'd in his Corn Flakes (with the Obama support thing), business was down. Anyway, good luck to he and Cooper. They make very fine rifles. How everything works out well for all concerned.

I love Christmas lights. They remind me of the people who voted for Obama. They all hang together; half of them don't work, and the ones that do, aren't that bright.

not understand, no explanation is possible.
A golf course is a willful and deliberate misuse of a perfectly good rifle range.
Gentlemen, I have no link. What I do have is an e-mail from Mr Vivero himself stating such (I contacted him with the query first after hearing online rumors). He said he is now completely studying the operation to improve quality ???, customer service and shorten delivery times. The operation will supposedly stay where it's at, and the work force basically intact. I do not know if he plans on a name change... I would doubt that. Anyway, he was super nice and I wished him every success. I only have one Cooper now, but can definitely see more in the future.

I was having some work done on one of my M22's back in early January and I spoke with Dan Pickett and he confirmed that Wilson is the new owner. Since Rob Behr left, Dan is the man.

This is good news. I was understandably P.O.'d when I heard that Dan Cooper had sold gun owners down the river by supporting Obama with both his voice and his checkbook, and I vowed not to buy a Cooper rifle unless he separated himself from the company. I guess the board of directors realised that as long as Dan Cooper was officially afflilliated with the company, the brand name was mud. I will say one thing, Dan Cooper supported Obama, and then he certainly got some "change" out of the deal... a change in employment status. I guess Cooper's job isn't one of the 3 million Obama claims the so-called "stimulus" bill with "create or save."[8D]
Actions have consequences, and Dan Cooper bet on the wrong horse.
As for Cooper rifles, I am pleased to say that I would again be happy to purchase one of Coopers very fine rifles. They are the creme de la creme of factory production rifles. I just hope the new owner understands what he's got and doesn't fix the company until it's broken like so often happens with buyouts.
Can someone confirm that Dan Cooper won't get his hands on one cent of my money "if" i buy a Cooper? Did he keep some kind of interest in the company?? Is he a silent partner in some way???
