Default Tape stuff on my stock?

I bought some of that crap from walmart that's not supposed to leave any tape residue on the stock when removed. well it did. I've got no idea how to get this crap off my stock. any suggestions?

Try some acetone (fingernail polish remover) I put that stuff on one and left it on for a couple of years. The acetone softened up the residue enough so you could rub it off.

don't laugh - but seriously. I've heard that peanut butter will remove adhesive residue. Honest. Just don't go and start licking it off. (but you could put it on the stock and give it to your dog to lick off - hmmm I may be on to something here)

For the future if you use cohesive elastic wrap instead of tape (commonly sold online at vet supply places) it only sticks to itself and leaves absolutely no residue...its even reusable if needed. A $3 roll of it would last you a whole season and it comes in camo if thats what tightens you screws.

Sold under the name 'vetrap'. Scroll down to the color hunter.

wd-30 will take it off. just be sure to wipe all of it off as it will collect dust and bind things up if it gets into the workings.
