Default 25-06 Ammo Recomendations

I finally have new Marlin XL7 on it's way and picking up this Sat for $299. I will be using this gun for whitetails and yotes. In regards to factory ammo I was going to compare Std Rem Core-Lokt in 120 gr and Hornady SST in 117 gr.This ammo runsabout $24-25/box. I do not want to pay for premium ammo which is not necessary IMO onthis game. Every gun shoots different but I am interested in hearingwhat ammo works best for them.

I reload for mine, the only factory loads that I have shot out of mine is the winchester 120gr postive expanding point. These shot very well, tight groups. I killed 2 deer with these bullets and they did a fine job.

Seems like you can't go wrong with the 25-06 on deer. 100gr+ and you're set! My 25 will shoot anything I feed it accurately.

the remingtons are ok but the quaity of the brass and overall quality of the ammo i think that you will be very pleased with hornady. but mabye i am a little bias if it were me i would shoot winchester supreme ballistic silver tips. better ammo yet and for about 32 a box. but between the remmy and the hornady i say the hornady hands down

I have used Sierra Game King in 120gr. for reloadingthe 25-06. It performs very well on deer, but you will lose some meat - especially if the deer is within 150 yards.
