Default need ruger p90 help

Having trouble disassembling my ruger p90. I have completley followed directions, of course the gun is unloaded. I lock the slide back and push down the ejector pin,I then line of the notches and lock out the slide stop, but the slide will not come off. I have tried this with the safety on and off. any ideas?

Don't be afraid to pull the slide forward with some authority.Sometimes they are a little hard to get off. Esp. if its a newer gun. It will get easier the more you do it.

Not sure about "lock out the slide stop" but that slide stop needs to be pulled completely out of the frame and then the slide will move forward. Whenyou push the slide stop through the frame it will stop, keep pulling from the opposite side.

Default RE: Slide stop

There's only 2 reasons a Ruger P series pistol won't field strip/slide removal. The slide stop pin is not retracted fully (they don't remove completely) or the extractor isn't depressed down. Like the previous posters stated, the slide will be a little harder to remove the first time/s. One thing to watch out for when reassembling is make sure the guide rod/recoil spring is aligned properly at the rear-not down too far where it impedes sliding the slide assembly back enough. The main pain in field stripping Ruger P series I've found is holding the slide back to pull the slide stop pin out at same time.
