338 Win. Mag. You have enough gun for any NA game, and then some.

The 7mmrem mag shoots flatter than the 30-06 and is suitable for most if not all north american game.

Let' s end it right here. Time proven. The round that is " more than enough" , " just right" and " not too big" .

I' ve got a bunch of rifles in various calibers, but the one I know will always be there to do the job, three words..........THURTY AUGHT SIX.

Most readily available, and in the widest range of loads and types (except probobly 7X62 & .223?). There is probobly a pretty good reason.

If you think something else, make sure your vote has been around for more than what, about a hundred years.

Nuf said.

I' m going to say .30-06 since most guys don' t hunt game bigger than deer but want a rifle that can do it all.

Truth be told, I' m a toss up between a .375H&H, the .30-06, and the .45-70 gov. Each is more than capable of taking any game in north america, while the former is slightly over powered for coyotes/varmints and antelope, the .30-06 is probably best for all but is a little light for the heaviest of bears, and the .45-70gov is not favored by many because of it' s very arched trajectory, but it is stout enough for anything on this continent (and debatably so for the rest of the world, as a good friend of mine took a cape buffalo with one three years ago, and millions of bison, that outweigh cape buffalo by 25% have been harvested with them)

Well I will have to cast a vote for the 7mm' s. The 7mm-08 Rem is my personal favorite and with bullet weights available from mice to moose the 7mm' s will do it all except the big bears. The exception to this rule of course is the 7 X 30 Waters.

No doubt the .30-06.....but the most versatile gun is the shotgun!
