Favorite .243 or 7mm-08 Rifle

What is your favorite/most accurate .243 or 7mm-08 Rifle? I am thinking about getting a new rifle and also trying to decide on caliber. It will be mostly used for deer and maybe some varmints if needed.

I have a youth model rem. 700sps that I bought for my daughter to use with federal fusion bullets it shoot sub moa groups.

The 7mm is the better deer round but the .243 would be better for varmints.One of each would be ideal.With that all you may ever need down the road would be a cannon like the .338 or .375 H&H for dangerous game should the opportunity to hunt such critters come along.

Just bought the wife a Browning A-Bolt Micro Hunter in 7mm08. Should be a dandy.

The 7mm08 is MUCH better choice than .243. Not only does the 7mm08 have the capability to cleanly kill deer,elk,black bear,as well as pronghorn antelope,but is also almost always finely accurate and not much more recoil at all. In fact,the 7mm08 with 120-140 ge bullets recoil so mildly,I started my kids out on them at 10 and 12 years old,and they both killed deer the very 1st year they hunted with 7mm08s. The 7mm08 will kill any deer ever to walk the earth-and at any reasonable range too. Yes,I realize the .243 is a fine cartridge,but it's not near as good as the 7mm08. With the 7mm08,you can use controlled expansion bullets on elk too-not so for the .243-at least not ethnically (IMO). The 7mm08 is arguably the BEST whitetail cartridge of all time!

YOU DON'T NEED A CANNON TO KILL A DEER

My choice is the .243 They will kill anything up to but NOT INCLUDING AN ELK

I have taken many deer with my model 70 light weight.

SHOT PLACE-MENTIS MORE IMPORTANT THAN CALIBER!

LONG RANGE AND LESS RECOIL ARE MOST IMPORTANT TO ME!

CZ 500 American in 6.5x55 swede is my choice. Or i like the 7 wthbry mag and the 338 federal for deer. Now predator and varmints a different story...i hunt them for their fur and use a 17 rem, 221 fireball, 204 ruger, and 223 AI

friend shoots a model 7 7mm08 it just destroys anything in front of it. If I didnt shoot a 270 i would be all over this caliber....i still eventually might buy one if a deal crosses me..Great whitetail round.
