If you are considering the kolpin be aware that it has a serious design flaw that you may not see.When you place a scoped rifle in the boot the scope will usually bottom out on the case before the barrel touches the bottom.In this situation the entire weight of the gun will be supported by the scope and all impacts and jolts will be absorbed by the scope.I have seen several scopes knocked off zero and two scope tubes that were actually damaged when the quads were ridden over very rough terrain.The only way to prevent this is to stuff the bottom of the boot with material until the barrel bottoms out before the scope.I personally strap a regular hard case to my front rack but am checking into a couple of other gun boots to see if they will do abetter job than the kolpin.
I use old socks, pair them up and pull one inside the other I find about 3 pairs do the trick. this beats paper !!
