The only 1 I'm mad at is dan cooper. Cooper rifles are truly the finest factory rifles you can just go buy,and I sincerely hope they DON'T go out of business, but people have to be responsible for their actions, and we all have to stick together againat anti gun/liberals. Hopefully he'll sell out before they go out.

Maybe he's looking to get a bailout from the Obamanation administration.LOL. With the economy crapping out the way it is, I doubt that there are going to be a lot of orders for $2000 rifles over the next few years.

The funny thing is, the same demographic that might be buying coopers (middle aged, white male, college educated, at or near the top of his earning potential) are spending most of their discretional gun money on EBRs, EBR parts, EBR magazines, EBR ammo because the next @ssclown-in-chief is likely to ban all of that fun stuff. Thankyou Dan Cooper[:'(]

Briman:

I have a feeling that mr Cooper has the belief that Obama or any other gun grabber is never going to go after hunting rifles, so its safe for him to support Obama.
I think that you're right that he might have thought that, but the issue isn't only the possible banning/confiscating the type of rifle his company makes, but also the other plausible "common-sense" actions Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the now very liberal, anti-gun, congress might put on Obama's desk for his rubber stamp. I recall an effort by Ted Kennedy to ban the sale of ANY ammunition that could penetrate a class IIIa bullet resistant vest (which is the standard type issued to police officers). Of course, this would ban ALL centerfire rifle ammunition, including the expanding projectiles that are used by every rifle hunter in the country. So if this piece (of crap) legislation gets revived in the congress, and Comrade Obama signs it (which is an almost certainty), we could buy all the Cooper rifles they can make, but we'd have nothing to shoot through them. There has also been efforts by our Marxist "friends-of-hunters" to ban "sniper rifles," which by their definition would include just about every CF, bolt-action rifle ever made, definitely including all of Coopers rifles. So when Chairman maObama says he won't take our guns away, what he means is that he'll just let the BATFE do it for him.

Another thing that I don't get about Dan Cooper's support for Obama is that Cooper is... was... the president and major shareholder in what is likely a multi-million dollar a year corporation, who's taxes Obama and Biden both repeatedly and openly stated they'd substancially raise. If they follow through on their promise, not only would Cooper see a much larger portion of his salary go to taxes (anyone think he made more than $250K as president of the company), but he'd also get bit in the ass by the promised near doubling of both corporate and capital gains taxes. This means that his company will make less money (corporate), and he'll make less on his shares (capital gains).

The only thing that makes any sense is that he was trying to butter his bread on both sides. By openly contributing to and supporting Chairman maObama, maybe he thought that he'd be able to exert some influence on the inevitable anti-gun laws that would land on maObama's desk to favor his business. That's how it's done in Socialist/Communist countries. Generously support those who are against you so the laws they pass hurt your competitors more than they hurt you.

I've been wanting to buy a Cooper varmint rig for my wife for a long time, but until I hear that Dan Cooper has fully divested himself of all Cooper holdings, I will not spend one thin dime on that company's products. If he wants to stab lawful gun owners in the back, we have every right to put him and his company out of business. Hopefully the board-of-directors offers to buy back his shares now that he's no longer president.

An SKS better than a Mini-14? Come on, let's not be stupid.

the bottom line is dan cooper still owns the majority of cooper firearms, therefore the majority of every cent you give to cooper goes in to dan's pocket. i'd not buy a cooper until dan has severed all ties (particularly financial ) with cooper firearms, and even then i'm not sure i could.
