Default BPS Rifled Deer, 12 Gauge

Well, with my yearly bonus this year I am going to invest in a deer gun. I shoot left handed and live right at the Michigan/ Ohio border so a shotgun is the gun of choice. And I have found no one that makes a left handed autoloader with a riffled barrel, if there are any I know they are out of my budget.

I am planning on buying a BPS Rifled Deer, 12 gauge in Mossy Oak Break-up camo. Then I will more than likely place on it my Pro-Point Red dot sight, or a Banner Dusk-Dawn scope (Still working on that decision)

Thoughts, opinions, comments.

I like the BPS since it has the bottom eject and from what I've read it is a pretty reliable fire arm.

BPS is the best pump shotgun made today. You won't be disappointed.

Remington Model 870 Express comes in Left handed now. But the Browning is a great gun. Both would work well.

I had an 870 in the past and was not impressed with it. Continued to jam, ended up having a close call with it due to that and the gun got scrapped.

I think I'm pretty set on the BPS, not like I will wear out the gun hunting one or two weeks out of the year with it but want something I can use for the rest of my hunting life.

Thanks,

I've hada few browningbps shotguns as well as other close friends and every single 1 of them has performed outstanding. VERY good choice on bps!

The BPS is a great choice for a left hander. Since I am left handed I have owned several. Before you buy the BPS though I would check out an Ithaca 37 with a rifled barrel (I have these too). Not knocking the BPS, but the Ithaca will give you years of service plus its barrel lock up is a bit tighter than the BPS which generally means a little better accuracy.
Realistically either way you go you will probably end up happy though.

Thanks for the input, I will be going to Cabela's tonight and will handle both guns. I know I'll like them both it might come down to how the feel and their balance.

Looking forward to having the right gun for the job.
