I have read on other forums where members are buying new 10/22s for $149.00! Does anyone know of a store in SW Georgia or NW Florida that sells 10/22s for that? Some list the names, but I am not familiar with those particular stores. I just bought a 10/22 carbine with a synthetic stock for $225 from a local gun store.
Best chance is to find one at one of the national chain stores, they'll have 'em at the best price proberly. You'll not get the personalized service nor any help at all should something be needed later on but hey, to some saving a few dollars is worth that.
Wal-Mart here had one like mine with the wood stock for I think it was $197. I thought this was decent as the local gun shop that usually has good prices had a wood one and a cammo one and the camo was $259 and the wood I think was $229 but I'm not positive on that. Anyway, I looked at them on a Saturday as I really liked the Camo one. I saw someone ask about the wood one on Saturday. I went back the next Friday I think it was and both of them had sold. I thought that was crazy at those prices. Especially since the new ones have soo much plastic on them. Prices have really gone up since I got mine 4 years ago.
I'd sure like to know how they can sell them new for that (129$)as that's less than I have to pay wholesale. Also, ruger recently started shipping triggers with plastic trigger guards, beware and make sure to get metal (aluminum) trigger guard version.
