RE: Browning A bolt medallion??
Medallions are slightly different than a regular a-bolt. Usually have some slight engraving on action, usually is gloss blued, and has a rosewood end on the forearm. The A-bolt hunter for instance will be matte and no fancy forearm end.

I have a abolt gold medallion, has a palm swell, which I believe is suppose to aid in more accurate shooting, ie trigger squeeze etc....does have a few nicer things...to each their own though, at the time I liked it more than the plain version for 1 reason or another.

All a-bolts have the palm swell to the best of my knowledge. The only difference between mediallion and hunter/stalker is metal finish, wood finish (shinier and forend cap),and they do have a higher grade of wood.
