Default Stock Question???

I just bought 2 Remington 700 wood stocks from a guy and they are great. I bought them for my .270 and my 300 ultra mag. The one for the 270 seems great, but I have a problem with the 300. The wood stocks have no place for you to empty unused shells out of the bottom. Okay for my .270, but my 300 is made to empty from the bottom. I let my buddy borrow my 300 to go elk hunting, so I can't see whats up until he gets back. Is ther anyway the stock will work, or do I just need to sell it??

Thanks Bryan

Default RE: Stock Question???

You can do one of two things.

#1. Have the bottom of the stock inletted so that the bottom metal fits properly. This is a pretty common conversion on ADL stocks and shouldn't be too expensive.

OR

#2. forget about the hingedfloor plate, buy a trigger guard for the stock and install the magazine box, magazine spring and follower inside the stock to have a blind magaaine.

Default RE: Stock Question???

You should be able to get a replacement stock for one of those things pretty easily from Ebay or one of the classifieds out there. look at e-gunparts. The remington bottom metal and assembly will probably be as much if not more then what a used replacement stock would be. Lots of different ways of doing it and that is one good thing about Remingtons parts abound and are easy to get.
