Default A good 45 ACP????

I'm looking for a good compact 45 ACP. Right now I am looking at the Taurus Model 145. Anyone have this particular gun? How is it? Any other recommendations? Thanks guys.

Kimber. Best factory finish 1911 out there. Para is good too. Havent tried the springfield, but looks decent.

Para is a grat gun but a little pricy. Springfield XD are great. I have 2 of them. A compact in 45 and a Sub-Compact in 40. I carry my Sub-Compact all the time. I also have a Taurus PT111 in 9mm. The trigger on them is really stiff and makes it hard to shoot accuratly espically in some kind of rapid fire. You can get the Springfield XD for right around $500. Paras run to $800-1500 depending on the model.

Well Patrick I guess the previous posts narrowed it down for you..?!?!
But to be honest, there are a lot of good 45s out there. Depends on how much you want to spend and more importantly, which one fits your hand better.
Handle as many as you can and make your own decision. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the recommendations above including your own suggestion. Another one to look at would be the S&W.
Good luck

One choice that has not been mentioned would be the Glock 30, Glock 30SF, or the Glock 36.

I have a Kimber Ultra CDPII and can't say enough good about it. It is as accurate as my full size and carry's really nice. It feeds everything I have ever put in it without any problems. It's a little expensive but well worth the money in my opinnion.

I belive the XDM is only in 40 S&W. I could be worng though. A 40 S&W is a great round also though. I like a 40 as a carry round better then a 45.
