Just recived a rifle from my Father-in-law who passed away 3 weeks ago it 32 caland have a ?...
It has 32LONG on the barrel, its a short single shot lever action, reciver area is oxtagon then goes into a short round barrel,it about 30-36" long andit has the name of
J.STEVENS A & T CO ,
CHAICOREE FALLS MASS USA PPAT ARR 1794(or 84 hard to tell)......
It could be the S&W .32 long as well. Easy check on the firing pin will let you know which. Be careful not to fire modern powder in an old gun designed to use black powder carts.
Thanks,
It seems to be in good condition but well used,my wife thinks it was her great grandmothers yard gun, also got a old 22 stainless steel bolt action(bolt is stainless only),says western on it and is a tube feed like the marlin 60.
Off set fireing pin ?...It apeers to be a centerfire but will take a closer look.
forgot.....
Also got a Colt single action 22LRrevolver,Gold plated Cylinder/wheel and trigger and gaurd with pearl handles, never been fired, its in a nice oak box...I think its a cheep Aniversery modle, just dont know being how I just recived these 3 items...

1794??? 1894, maybe!
OWS does not seem to have these .32 Long rimfires any more. Since Dangerous Dave retired, and Navy Arms acquired the name, their variety of old ammo seems to have gone south....

A little off topic, but good to see you eldequello!
It seems that 32 ammo is a little hard to come by, but it appears that Navy arms is still making it. You'll just have to find one of they're dealers that supplies it. Heres one that I found on the web: http://www.southernohiogun.com/ammo.htm

Thanks, Johnny! Glad to be back. I just spent the last 1.5 months moving back up to central NY. I'm back on my old place, and have some shooting territory now, unlike in PA where I had to drive 30 miles to a range!
Can shoot up to 400 yards on my own property, with a nice hill for a backstop. But haven't got my reloading bench set up yet. That's the next task.

RE: 32 LONG ???
I'll just take a moment to echo jonnybravoo's comment, Eldeguello...A lot of us were concerned... hadn't heard anything from you in some time. Glad to hear you're doing well and back posting again. Don't scare us like that!!...
