Default looking for an M1 Grand

Hey everyone,
I am looking for a military issued M1 Grand. My uncle has one and i have shot it before. That is a lot of fun to shoot so i think i might get one. He got his from his dad (my grandpa whos decesead) because his dad served in the army. I would like to get one so i can have some fun at the ranges. Anyone have one or know where i can get one?

Thanks,
Ben

If you can' find one locally from an individual or shop, your best bet would be to go through the CMP for one. Usually you' ll need to go through a CMP-approved gun club to do it, but the price is really right - plus you know you' ll be getting a good shooting rifle that meets, at the very least, minimum military service specs.

Here' s a link to the CMP for details:

I wasn' t going to say anything, and really don' t mean to knitpick, but I love the rifles so much I can' t pass it up. It' s a GARAND, not a grand, I apologize for this but I read this 20min ago and can' t get it out of my head!!![X(][:' (]

Have you considered going through Springfield armory and getting a Non-issued one? You' re bound to have better luck with one from them than a used issued arm.

The only problems with the new Springfield guns are a much higher price and you don' t have a military rifle with the history behind it.
