Default Benelli

Hey guys first post so I hope you can help me out. Ive decided its time for a new shotgun and also decided I really like the Benellis. I plan on mostly using it for pheasant but would love to get into ducks someday, and maybe a little clay shooting here and there (not a lot) Im really looking at the M2 Field but wondering if its worth the extra couple hundred for the SBE 2. Is the 3 1/2 shell really needed, Ive read conflicting things saying with the balistics and power of 3's, 3 1/2 isnt really needed anymore.(for ducks) Thanks in advance!

If you intend to shoot 3.5" shells, go with the SBE, but I have shot a Super 90 since 1995 and have never felt under gunned.

I have the super black eagle, I love it.
I use it for Turkey Duck and also bought a Hastings riffled slug choke to use it for deer.
Since I've had the Benneli, it has put my Browning Upland Special (24" O&U dbl barrel) in retirement
The more length of shell, the more pellets to kill with - aye

It's a gun you can own for life, so what's a few hundred dollar mean too you, for this thought?

IMHO you don't need the 3 1/2 inch shells. Most hunting can be done nicely with the 2 3/4 and3"shells. Now if you were into long range waterfowl hunting it might be a slight advantage with the longer shell, but you could wait for the game to get closer and not sky bust. just my $0.02

There is no Duck, Clay either skeet, trap or sporting or pheasant that will not be absolutely hammered by a 2 3/4" shell nevermind a 3" shell. I would go with the M2..save a few hundred dollars and have a really fine shotgun.

IMO, you can't go wrong with Benelli.
