The Silver Reserve is generally considered a decent hunting gun, but not able to stand up to the rigors of high volume shooting. When they first came out they had problems with their selecter, but have since fixed the problem.
Personally it just does not fit me, but my brother has one and he loves it. He only uses it for upland bird hunting.

Heard the same...

Went with a Franchi Renaissance and am happy as a pig in a pile. I've heard they're still hit and miss on their lock-up with the break action. Looks like they may be a decent gun for the money...?

My limit is around the $550 under mark and had a stoeger 2000 last yr and tossed it into the river duck hunting..."not really"
but i had nothing but issues with it. I really wanna try the O/C scene more of a challenge when you have 2 shots then 3 and being able to toss in a shell quick.. i'm gonna do some more research before i buy. Thanks for the input

I was actually considering a great deal on a used one until I read several negative reviews on them.

If you want to buy a pretty decent o/u look at Lehanns . They import Huglu O/U and SxS and go over them and resell them to the public.I have been very less then impressed by the Mossberg and the checkering they have is kindergarten checkering at best. They also have a too loose a lockup for my tastes.
