My first round with my new H&R had me scared...I think I got carried away and tried to hard with a very HOT barrel...
Well...last weekend...I went back to the range and relaxed and took my time..
My little shorty Handi Rifle has a 3X9 Nikon on it and its performing well!
I managed to repeat 3 rounds in a 1 inch group at 100 yards with 180 gr. Federal Fusion Bullets..I did the same thing with the Winchester 180's...
For some reason the gun did not want to stay inside 2 inches with the remington core loc....this is fine...I found the bullet it likes...No..I wasn't flinching[8D] Buy a H&R handi-rifle!!...it has made me proud.... just like my H&R Ultra slug guns...!!

I had one in 30-06 but it wasn't the stainless. I had about the same experience as you have had. It shot three shot groups around one inch with several different loads. I had no problem with sticking brass in the 30-06 or 280. I had fits with brass sticking in both of the 243 rifles I tried. One was Blue and one stainless.
