Default Benelli M1S90 with pistol grip or?

I had to sell off a couple of guns last year because money was tight. I sold my Mossberg 500, but kept my Benelli M1 Super 90. It has a straight stock with pistol grip and ghost ring sights.

It's my home defense gun, and I've gotten to be pretty good with it, which is one reason I didn't sell it.

I'm just wondering if anyone has used a shotgun with pistol grip/straight stock and ghost ring sights for hunting. It's just a couple more months before gun season opens here. I'm good with the Benelli out to 75 yards or so (never tried it beyond that).

Any reason I should beg or borrow a "normal" shotgun?

If your good to 75 yards then i would jsut use it. Why get another gun that you would have to get used to when your already good with this one. Also what are you hunting? IM assuming deer with slugs.

Thanks, Retaks. Yeah, I'll be using slugs, so I'll need to get another barrel. The smooth bore isn't very accurate with slugs.

If it works for YOU, use it. The stock design will give more felt recoil than a standard non pistol gripped stock but where as you're acustomed to it, go with it. Didn't mention what loads you're using at the 75 yr distance but my ghost sighted M1 prefers Breneke 2 3/4 slugs. Will cloverleaf 3 at 75 yrds if I do my part.

No reason not to use it if you are good with it.
