I was on my way to the range this morning and I stopped at Walmart to pick up some targets. They had a Simmons 3x9x50 on sale for 17 bucks. I bought it and put it on my new Savage .223 in the parking lot while waiting for the range to open. I was shooting a Remington SPS 700 300 ultra mag with a 3x9x40 Nikon Buckmaster, a Remington BDL 700 .243 with a Nikon Monarch 4x12x44, and a Remington SPS Varmit 22.250 with a Swift 4.5x14x44.
I had a good breakfast before I left and was shooting better than usual. I could not believe how good that Savage was shooting. It was the cheapest gun out of all of them, with the cheapest scope and it was shooting lights out. I am obviously a Remington guy, but I sure like my new Savage!
I'm going to spend some money this weekend and buy it a scope it deserves!!
