Default Rem. 700 XCR scope mounting problems...help!

I'm running into a problem that I haven't before.

I just bought a LH Rem. 700 XCR. I've always used Leupold low rings on my other rifles with no problems in scope clearance.

Now I'm looking at which scope to buy and seeing that bolt clearance is going to be an issue. Went by Gander Mountain and put a pare of medium height rings on the gun and had OK clearance, but not as much as I'm used to.
Not clearance for the scope bell, but clearance from the bolt handle and eyepiece.

I'm seeing why so many folks like the Browning rifles for their 60 degree bolt throw.

Does anyone know of a set of LOW bases/rings that will allow me to mount a 40mm objective on a Rem. 700 and not have the bolt contact the eyepiece when it's raised?

I have Warne bases and medium rings on my Remington 700xcr. My scope is a Burris Euro-Diamond 2.5x10 with a 44mm objective. Main tube is 30mm. I have 1/4" clearance on mine. I would try low Warne rigs with their bases for a 40mm objective.

On my Rem 700 XCR I mounted a Sightron Big Sky 3-12x 42mm scopeon Leupold medium heightrings. This set up works out really nice, andmy eye level at center ofscope is just the right height when shouldering the rifle. No problem with bolt throw, not even with gloves on and hunting in sub freezing temperatures. Space is around 3/16" between scope bell and rifle barrel. I know alot of people on this site focus on trying to go as low as possible on the scope mount, but what is importing is the alignment of you eye with the center of the scope in a comfortable shooting position.

I have mounted hundreds of scopes with low Leupold rings on Remington 700's.

Bigbulls

How are you getting enough clearance so the bolt handle doesn't contact the eyepiece of your scope with low mounts?
I've put a set of Leupold medium rings on my rifle along with a Zeiss 3.5-10X44mm scope. No clearance problems with the 44 mm. bell at all. I could probably fit a 50mm bell.
The bolt handle clears ok with mediums, but I'm concerned it's going to contact the eyepiece of the scope with low rings.
I know the Zeiss scopes have a little larger eyepiece than some other models, but I don't know if it would make a difference with a Leupold or Nikon scope.

Any advice would be welcomed.
