I had one of the rare ones...

Load tweaks were all that was needed to make it shoot lights out, a .25-06.

Heard you can put a pressure screw in the hanger arm to help with accuracy issues, as a common fix.

The trigger is adjustable.............

E. A. Brown (www.eabco.com) sells trigger upgrades (Kepplinger and / or Moyers) and the Hicks accurizer for #1's. They will install or you can have a local, competent (if you know of one) gunsmith to do it. Number ones are funny, some shoot well without any mods, but some require tweaking. Good luck.

I have a 92 vintage #1 Tropical in 416 Rigby that's quite accurate without any mods, have always heard it's a hit or miss with em.

Thinking about it if you have the laminated stock the only thing I would do is put the Moyers trigger on it and see if that helps. I think part of the problem with them was the walnut foreend that shifted maybe because of climatic changes. SHould not have that problem with the laminated wood.
