Default Swift Scopes

I have a 300 Ultra Mag that I bought last month that still needs a scope. I was going to get the Luepold vx-II 3x9-40, but a friend of mine suggested that I look into Swift scopes he has heard a lot of good things about them. I have never personally heard of them and none of the local outdoor stores carry them so I was hoping that somebody that has or have had them could help me out with some info. My concerns are can they handle the Ultra Mag, what kind of warrenty they have and if they are American made.

Thanks For The Help

Swift makes a " good" scope but with heavy recoil caliber I would go for the Leupold also...

Leupold and I would suggest going with the Varix III for RUM. Take a look on ebay, I have seen a good number going for decent price (Varix III 3x9x40' s)

I got a swift 4-12x and it has been a great scope so far, on my CZ .22LR.,.

But, on my .300win.mag. Sendero I have a Leupold 4.5-14 Long Range Tactical, also a great scope.

I have a swift 3-9 and have had no problems with it. It is on a .308,so the recoil is there , not as much as larger calibers, no problems, will buy another one when I need a scope.

Swift optics is a world wide company it would appear they specialize more in the MEDICAL equipment LINE. (darn Caps lock button) I use a Swift rifle scope model 676M-4X12. The cost difference between Leupold and Swift is a factor we have to consider here maybe it would be better to compare Swift with Lower end Bushnell and Tasco scopes. The cost of my Swift scope was approximately $120. I purchased it online from Ed Brown company. For the price payed, this scope far exceeds anything the other manufacturer' s offer in the same price range. Only the person who has to look thru the glass can decide what will work best for them,(and fit their pocketbook). Good luck. smd Hk19852

Well since I live in Leupold country (only 40 miles from Corporate) I am going to go with Leupold. They have a proven track record, and a great warranty. Now I just need to decide if I want to spend the extra money and go with the Vari-X lll or get the VX-II.

I am planning on buying .223 for yote hunting in a few months I will probably have to give the Swift a try.

Thanks for all of the help.
