New England Firearms. Also lumped together with Harrington & Richarson (H&R) both now owned by Marlin. They produce quality, low cost, single-shot rifles and shotguns. Some of the best values on the market today.
You can get two or three NEF' s for the price of one of most other guns. And with a fair range of calibers to choose from such and 223, 243, 270, 280, 30-30, 30-06, 45-70, 17 hmr, and a few I forgot, you can get almost anything you want and the only bad thing about them is it' s hard to find scope rings that will fit them without the hammer touching the back of the scope.
I just ordered one in 30-06. It cost right at 200 bucks including shipping and all that other stuff.
They have thier faults such as the need to use very high scope rings, and they have a little heavier than normal trigger but all around there a real good deal.
