Default .5mm Is Back!

For those who were smart and held onto your old Remington .5mm like myself, pat yourself on the back. Centurion is making this ammo again. Taurus is making a revolver in .5mm and T/C is still making the barrels. You shoudl be able to gete the ammo for $20.00 a boxthrough Centurian compared to 75.00 from a nobody.

.5mm??? That's tiny! That's 1/2 a millimeter. Wow. I could'nt imagine it's use. On the other hand, I do think the bring-back of the dormant 5mm Remington is cool. Not interest in the taurus and only lukewarm from the TC but hopefully others will see a market and bring out other models.

I believe that is 5MM ( 20 caliber) rather than .5mm.... Nit-picky I admit. But there's a big difference!

I seen that too and have been planing to get a scope back on 1 of my 5mm and get it up and running, I have fond memories of my dads when I was a kid. I have 2-1 bolt and 1 clip my dad still has his tube feed ..

I still haven't shot up all of the Rem. ammo i have for mine, so no hurry in getting any new ammo.

I'm suprised it took them this long with the success of the .17s and the price of ammo going way up..... everyone is back to buying and shooting .22s again... just a matter of time before the 5mm came back. Might see a .14 finally mass produced before too much longer!

The .5mm is much more superior than the 17. Dont be fooled by the .5mm's size, thoes who have not shot it nor even seen the devistation that It can do from 100-200 yards out have no idea what kind of load this little bugger is. This gun was way ahead of its time when it was introduced. Thats why they stopped production on it. This was the best varmit rifle of its time and will soon be again. My father in law has shot more than150 fox with his up untill the day they stopped making the ammo. Some of you should read the article at this site who have never seen this load or have shot it.

5mm is .20" caliber. .5mm is HALF A MILLIMETER. That equals .5 X 1/254 of an inch; or .00196 of an inch! Like I said, big difference! That'd be a pretty tiny bullet!!
