Default 870 or Nova 12

I have an interesting situation. It's time to retire my "old" shotgun. There are two sporting goods stores competing with each other. One has a Remington 870 Express in 12 ga., while the other has a Bennelli Nova 12. They are asking the same price for each. Does anyone have any experience with these models which I can draw upon for comparison? Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't have a bit of experience with the Bennelli but in my opinion the remington will last you forever if you take care of it.

Ok, Thanks guys. I've spoken to some others and they mirror what you two have said. So, I guess it's unanimous. 870 it is.

jesus jumping on a pogo stick, some questions on the board are so redundent.

1. There both good shotguns.
2. Go to a gun shop at see what one you like.
3. You the search button.

Too easy right?

Not to beat a dead horse but;
I love my nova, but have trusted my life to an 870 at work many times. I've used my nova as a boat paddle while duck hunting, it has been submerged several times, and performs great. I have two 870s that I use for hunting, and love them too...The 870 I use at work, has been put through some serious hell, and its like a timex, takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Like the last poster said, see what feels better to you. Alot of my friends don't like the nova b/c it has more bulk to it and doesn't fit them right.

Have had 870's all my life and won't buy another kind of shotgun. If you want to feel what a very nice pump shotgun feels like pick up an 870 Wingmaster.

870's can take a beating and hold up well. Not to mention they shoot well also.

I've got the Super Nova, & love it!! The 870 is legendary for its reliability, though. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Shoulder each one, see which one fits better!
