Default Which bullet for .223?

I just bought a Rock River .223 varmint AR 15 with a ss 16" bull barrel, 1 in 8 twist and am looking for suggestions on bullet brands andweights. The gun will mainly be used for plinking, but I would like the most accuracy for coyote and varmint hunting. Does the 1 in 8 twist prefer heavy or lighter bullet weights?

I have tha same rifle and have shot a mixture of ,Remington , Federal and Hornady in mine . It seems to like the 62 gr Federals the best in my rifle .

Mine shot everything out of it pretty good. I shot alot of 55gr Ultramax SPs out of mine, and it printed some pretty good groups with them. I also shot quite a few Hornady VMaxs out of it, those were 55grs as well. 1:8 will prefer a lil heavier load, but I also shot 40gr bullets out of mine with varmint killing accuracy as well.

I'd imagine the faster twist would have a preference for 55-70 gr bullets.

Below is a group I shot with my 20 inch Rock River Varminter at 300 yards. I shoot Black Hills Red Box 50 grain V-Max. I bought three cases of this ammo on sale about two years ago for a great price. I was going to shoot it up and use the cases, but the ammo shoots so well that I only hunt with the ammo, so it should last me for a while. However I am not sure what the twist is in my RR. I thought it was a bit slower than 1in8. Tom.
