Default Winchester 94

Does anyone have a link to a good Winchester rifle forum? I want to do some research on a 1910"™s era 1894.
Maybe someone can answer my questions directly.
What were the stocks made from?
Was there checkering on the stock or forend?
The one I have had the stock replaced sometime in the 1970"™s so I know it is not authentic or even correct. I would like to return the rifle to the original configuration and want to use the correct wood and checkering if there was any.

Spencer....
I think you can e-mail Coady Arms now, with the serial number etc. from your Winchester. They'll probably charge you something like $50.00 But they in turn will send you a certificate for your firearm and a complete description of what configuration it was in when it left the factory.

I have already looked in to this. They only go up to serial number 353999. Which make me SOL.
