Default Red Dot Scopes

I was thinking of putting a red dot scope (aimpoint) on my sons new youth gun. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.

I failed to mention that it is a 20 ga. H & R youth slug gun. Will this scope work on the this gun and do you think it is a good idea for a youth.

I have tried a couple of red dot sights, and since you specifically asked about the Aimpoint, I have an Aimpoint 9000L and find the field of view too narrow for my taste. I ended up going with a Leupold VXIII 1.5-5 illuminated reticle instead and really like it.

I also have a Docter Optics red dot sight, and I really like it for short range shooting/hunting.

I have this one on my new Turkey gun but it would be perfect for a slug gun as well..............oneclickshooting.com has them for $139 with free shipping and they threw in a lens pen and covers.
They even have a lifetime transferrable warranty ala Leupold.
