For any of you guys that remember a couple of my recent posts I just wanted to update you on how things went.
My friend and I went to Cabelas today. He decided on the tikka t3 .243 per my recommendation, although a couple of otherCASUAL hunters and thesalesman at cabelas were all voting for the 30-06. I know he'll be pleased. I bought him his first box of ammo.
My .22 hornet (handi-rifle) had also arrived and after jumping through a few extra hoops (due to my procrastination my drivers license did not match my current address), I was able to leave with it.
For $100.00, I could not possibly ask for a better deal. Gun is in better shape than I expected (no real nicks or dings at all

) and bore looks a little dirty but good. We'll see how she groups.
We both also found matching Nikon Prostaffs (3-9x40) in the bargain cave for $108.00 each (YEAH BABY!!!). Again, an experience at Cabelas exceeded my expectations.
The only slight problem I have is the new weaver base and rings (high) on the hornetgive the hammer just one hair'swidth of clearance underneath the scopeeyepiece. I may have to get "see thru" rings or something that is higher than what I have. Cocking isn't too much of a problem, but uncocking is difficult enough that the current system will have to be revised for long term use. I'm not really a fan of those "see thru" rings so I might look for a while to find a better solution (perhaps a 32mm scope would also be better ...an excuse for another scope

)...can't wait to shoot it though.
Thanks for all your replies/support on these matters
