ruger 96/22lr

When I goto the range. I normally take a ML and one other gun. last 5 trips I took my ruger 96/22lr to the range. everytime I go every tells me they did not know ruger made a lever action .22. I say I did, but they no longer make them (as far as I know). it is a great shooter. only 2 mods to it. floated the barrel and removed the band.

Has anyone else handled this model?

Because everytime I post a pic of it, I have about 3 or 4 ppl tell me that tell me that they never seenone.

I remember them. looked at them a few times but never grabbed one unfortunetly. They're certainly neat little rifles. They just didn't catch on. More or less never got out from the shadows of thier 10/22 sibling.
