Default New Mossberg 30-30

I see Mossberg is coming out (has come out) with a new 30-30 lever action. Does anyone know if this is the same rifle Mossberg made and distributed under theMongomery Ward label about 35 years ago?

how big is the new .30-30 market? seems to me everyone owns one......or you can get one used......

I have one, so no need for one, ive yet to use it hunting really, just not sure how great of a cartridge it is......would anyone want that as their new rifle/cartridge 1st pick? If you did alot of sub 200yds and more like 100yds or less, I could see it be quite ideal......i just have little need for one, maybe in the future.....

I just think most new rifle purchases would be more of something that could be used out west....and even at 200yds or less....perhaps a different round ahead of the .30-30

Many people love the 30-30 I have one and I still take it out every year just to spice things up. It carries with it a nostalgia that other rifles don't have. Its a fine deer rifle that has taken more deer than any other, plus every other critter in NA, and tamed the west. Its accurate and deadly well onto 200 yds even without Hornady LE's. I personally have taken a doe cleanly at 160 yards. Its a classic that will never die.

I'm sure there'll be a market-but I wish they'd make the stocks out of WALNUT!!

I agree. My nephew has a Marlin 336 with an aftermarket black stock, and it just doesn't look right to me.
