Default Went to check on my bow last week and.................

I found out it would be couple more weeks for the rest of my Octane accessories. While I was there I wandered over to the gun counter. Low and behold Smith and Wesson is offering a $100 rebate on all M&P 15 rifles. I have been kicking around the idea of picking up an AR15 for quite some time, so I couldn't resist. I got to take it out for a couple hundred rounds last week and again over the weekend. I was working with the wife on improving her ability with it tonight and just snapped a quick pic. with my phone. I know it isn't really bowhunting related, but this is where I spend most of my time. It sure is a fun way to spice up the off season!

After the rebate it was $800 out the door. It will be considerably more than that after I get done with the accessories. The dang thing is just like a bow in that regard.

$800 would buy a nice shotgun, compared to a plastic ASSAULT rifle, but whatever makes you happy. Congrats man.

I have plenty of"nice" shotguns, rifles, and handguns. I wanted this "assault" rifle just because it is very fun to shoot and I believe in doing anything I can to piss off the Libs. It will probably be worth more than Ipaid for it after November . Don't go all Jim Zumbo on me just because it is a black semi-auto rifle.Believe it or not, theyreally arequite accurate and I can tell you first hand, this one will be ruining many a coyotes day.

Assault Rifle? I thought it was a "Freedom Rifle"! Great AR15, have fun with it. You might want to invest in a Ceiner 22LR conversion for it so you can shoot some cheaper ammo sometimes. I have one for mine, and its a hoot! That thing is awsome full auto, even with 22LR.. South Carolina lets us own full auto with the proper paperwork, of course purchasing a full auto is expensive, not to mention ammunition cost. I really need to upgradefrom myDillon 550B ! Anyway, thats a GREAT "Freedom Rifle"so have fun with it, and be safe.

Brett, Where are you in Illinois? I grew up in LaSalle, its about 100 miles WSW of Chicago. I still have family in LaSalle, and in New Berlin (close to Springfield).
