its camo dip. its as good a the finish on your car i was told. it will wear and scratch. you could always tuch up the spots or coat with oil. be careful with the heavy gun cleaners not to splash any on the finish.
Related note: My best friend had a Browning BPS with the dura-touch armor fnish in mossy oak shadow grass. We went on a diver hunt on the Rappahanock River on the last day of the season in like 2004 or 2005. The water where we were hunting is mostly salt water. Kevin cased his gun and went to clean it three days later and found the finish bubbling from the rust that was forming underneath the camo. The gun was completely ruined.
Additionally, on the original Nova (not sure about the super Nova, but I suspect it is the same), the metal parts inside the synthetic receiver are molded into place. I have seen more than one waterfowl hunter and a couple of deer hunters end up with moisture behind these parts (I don't know how) and the rust will eat them from the inside out... again... gun is ruined.

metal on the gun is degreased before the dip is put on. Since it is not part of the receiver metalmoisture will get to it if it is scratched. The finish probably expands and contracts and moisture will get in that way as well. Now if the finish was NP3,Cerrakote,Teflon ,Guncoat or asimiliar baked on finish then you have something there unless of course it gets chipped. Film Dip is cheap chitt if it wasn't the manufacturer wouldn't put it on their guns.
