Default Scope on H&R Ultra Slug Hunter

I am finally going to go out and buy an H&R Ultra slug hunter, I am wondering is the scope that comes in the package in the gun any good? What scope is it? what power? I can find no info on this. Thanks
-Jake

They don't have a scope as part of the package, they just have a scope on it to show how it would look. I have this shotgun in 20ga. I have a Leupold VX-II 3-9X40

I beleive it has a 3-9x40 scope that comes on it if you order the 12 gauge, not sure of the make/model. I would go with a 20 gauge without the scope. It's nice to pick a nice scope out instead of having a crappy one sent to you.

For my 12ga USHD I opted for a fixed 4 power Nikon. I prefer the fixed four power because I can get a clear view up close and still have enough magnification for even the furthest shot my set up is sighted in for.In my case that's 0-150yds.I don'tneed to worry about what magnification I'm at or turning it one way or the other. It's worked great for me but getting an adjustable magnification scope wouldn't be the end of the world either. I've used them before but I always find myself keeping it a a certain power setting......like 4.

Hard to beat a Nikon 2x7x32 Pro Staff Shotgun/Muzzleloading scope for $129. I'm getting ready to buy my third one for my new Knight KRB7. I usually never move mine off the 2.5 power mark but like the option to do so.

ok thanks. I thought there was a scope package, because the magazine had a picture of a scope on it. I would probably have ended up buying a new scope for it anyway, I hate cheap scopes.
