.284 Win / .308 Win / .300 WSM WHICH would you use for NY DEER HUNTING

Guy just a poll here.. im a n00b when it comes to calibers and cartridges.. im trying to learn more.. quite a bit confusing.. but anyway.. i currently own the .284 Win and the .308 Win and thinking of getting the .300 WSM.. is the .284 and .308 similar to eachother ? is it worth getting the .300 WSM? or would it be just as good as my other two guns?
if you had these 3 guns, and those choices of bullets, which would you take into the woods.. of mostly thick 100 yard max shots. any input is appreciated.. thanks in advance

Let me get this straight . YOu have a 284 and a 308 and you need something bigger for 100 yard shots max or do you just need an excuse to buy another gun?

IF I HAD a .284, I'd sure as hell use it. If not, the .308 with a 150-grain bullet would win hands down (of the choices you gave!!) Actually, I'd use a 7X57mm or a .45/70.......

The .284 is very close to the 7mm Rem. Mag., and is more rifle than the .308. But either are PLENTY for deer in a place where your shots will be under 400 yards-the .284 may be better than 400 yards, depending on how well your rifle shoots!!

Magnums are totally unecessary for any deer hunting!

I'd use the 284 or the 308 with 150's... If you want to spend money, spend it on the best scope you can afford for either above rifle that you like best, and plenty of ammo to practise with!

Do you have a pair of decent binoculars? Buy a pair of the best you can afford of them too.

Your shots are under 100 yards. No need to buy another gun...unless you want one of course....... Even out to 2 or 300 yard shots your guns will work well if you know how to shoot them. That being said, go buy a .300wsm. It is always good to have more guns.

[Hunting the North]

Deer are not that hard to kill. The .308 in 150 gr Federal 'Power Shock' for $15.00 per box are great for deer. No need for expensive magnum, or premium ammo.

truth is guys.. i want a new toy.. i bought the Zeiss conquest for the .308 a few weeks ago.. and im thinkin i want the tikka t3 light in 300wsm just thinkin.. an excuse to buy a new guy.. but i wanted the opinions of comparisson on those two guns from my fellow peeps that responded. thank you..

Dude the .308 with 150's will do it every time don't get another gun unless you have the itch.
