Default mossberg 500 problem

I have a Mossberg 500 and I tried taking the plug out, but it is stuck in the spring. I have not figured how to get it out, anyone got any suggestions? Can I take it apart and get it or is that too hard? Thanks.

The plug has small o rings on it that will come out with it. You just have to pull on itslightly.

I got the o-ring out, but the plug is between the spring and the inside of the barrel. I looked at it through a flashlight.

Well thats not right. Ill have to get my dads Mossberg 500 and see how to take it apart but you can. Just be careful because of the tension on the spring.

you should be able to unscrew the magazine tube from the reciever. just be careful when you do this as it is under pressure of the magazine spring.

yeah just take it apart slowly... its virtually impossible to ruin a Moss 500. it is odd that its stuck but find a and print out Mossberg 500 blueprint diagram for free online and take it apart and use the diagram as a reference. best of luck

I took it apart yesterday, and guess what I found! When I unscrewed the magazine barrel, I took the spring out and it was stretched and bent and curved everywhere. The plug had gotten wound up in the spring. So I found the problem. Thanks for all the input guys.
