I don't think you can ever go wrong with an 870, but because most slug loads are rough on the shoulder you might want to consider a semi, i'm a Remington guy so 11-87 would be what i'd recommend

Actually I can get the Xtrema 2 on closeout with a rifled barrel for 799.00 and it has KO. I just don't anyone that has one and has used it with slugs.
If you can get an Extreme 2 with kick off for $800 you would be stupid not to get it regardless of what barrel is on it.
