RE: The Dan Wesson 44 Mag.
Had a DW .44 for a few years. It was very accurate. The problem was that I got it used, and it would get out of time occasionally. When this happened it became a very difficult-to-cock single action. I had to open it up, clean it, oil it, and close it back up. This got old quickly. I missed a shot at a deer one day because of this. Finally sold it and bought a Ruger .22 Super Single Six. Haven't killed a deer since (with a pistol), but raccoons fear me.
Would probably buy another DW, but only if I got a brand new one.

My dad bought one in the early 80's, and I "borrowed" it for a few years. It's one of the most accurate and most comfortable revolvers I've shot. I don't know how many rounds it's fired over the years, but it's a lot!
