257 WSM vs. 264 WSM? .257-308 vs. 257-6mm?

Which would you rather have, or wish they'd load amongst the 2 of these? a .257 WSM, or a 264 WSM and why? Would you name the .264 WSM or 6.5mm WSM?

Also how would you like a .308 necked down to .257? 25 Souper I think it's called, also would you rather have a .257-308? or a .257-6mm Rem?

i like the 25 caliber better, no really good reason except personal preference, so i would say a 257wsm, which i would buy today if it were a legit cartridge and the 25-308, another one that i would own today if it were legitimized.

First things the 250-3000 Savage IS a ligitimized 257-308 its like .1 " shorter I don't have my book in hand . It pre-dates the 308 by a couple decades . And just what did we do with the 25 WSM , same performance as the 25-06' 308 length ? It is in production . I forgot about the 257 roberts .

Actually the .257 WSM is NOT the same performance as the 25-06. It is much closer to that of the .257 WBY Mag. To answer the original question, I hope they will dump the POS 25 WSSM and do the 25 WSM. A .264 or 6.5 WSM is just to close to the .270 WSM. I mean really, what you going to gain in a whopping .006 less diameter of a bullet?

with any 6.5 what you gain is better high BC bullets. I went with a 6.5 gibbs, it will match the 264 win mag, with less powder, better barrel life.
I think win. started developement with the 257 wsm, but due to pressure spikes, decided to use the wssm case. I also have a 25 wssm in an AR-15, and a better whitetail cartridge couldn't be found.
the 257/6mm is exactly a 257 roberts, and the roberts was a legitimate first I believe. The only bad thing about the 257 cals is a lack of good bullets. why run a 25 cal bullet 3500 fps, and wear a barrel that fast when a 6.5 bullet with a higher BC will outrun it at long range even at much lower velocity, and have 30% less wind drift?
