Remington Model 788 22-250 magazine

I have been looking for a replacement magazine for my model 788 in a 22-250 but i have had no luck. Will any other size cartridges work such as a 308 or 243? If anyone has any information as to where i might be able to get a replacement magazine that would be great to. Thanks

nope, no others will work, you may try here, they're out of stock but when I ordered 6mm clips they were out also but I got them 2 weeks later

Yes they will work. I have a 22 250 mag in my243 and it works fine. I noticed www.sportsmansguide.com has 788 mags for about 35 bucks I am going to pick up a couple spares myself.

ElkNutz,I am not trying to get confrontational,But are you sure it it a .22-.250 mag?I was of the understanding that the .243,7mm-08 ,.308,were the only ones that would fit each other being that they wer all built on the .308 case. .6mm different .44 different ,30-30 different.222 different.If the others will interchange I would really like to know being that I have a gaggle of 788s.Thanks.........Swamp

Yes I just went and got it out.It is stamped 22-250. It is the only clip I have for that gun.I am 99% sure that the 22-250 thru the 308 will all work interchangable.

well the 6mm's are different, some of the mags are stamped 222/223, some are stamped 243/7mm-08/308, but all the ones I ever saw are stamped 22/250, buddy of mine has a new 22/250 mag, I'll compare it to one of swamps mags I got for him

My dad has one in a 250 and i have one in a 243and they dont interchange.
