Default Can only use a .22 or smaller

I am new to coyote hunting and we are only allowed to use .22 or smaller. I am fiding out that there are alot of .22. What is considered .22 or smaller. I have only been looking at .22 mags and.17, is a .223 or 22-250 the same as .22? I did not think so but someone told me they we considered .22.

With a revolver, how far could I shoot if I put a scope on it?

well before you put a scope on it you would need to get it drilled and tamperd then a scope mount then scope rings then the scope but about 100 yards if your that good but most can shoot 65 easly

Check your laws but i believe it would be a 22 caliber centerfire or smaller not a 22 caliber rimfire or smaller. I could be wrong though.

If the law states .22 caliber or smaller then you could use any of the following:

rimfire:
.17 Mach2
.17 HMR
.22LR
.22 Mag

centerfire:
.17 Rem
.204 Ruger
.220 Swift
.221 Fireball
.222 Rem. Mag
.223 Rem
.22-250 Rem

I don't think that I would try to use a pistol to hunt coyotes myself, but I am sure it is done. I have killed many with a .22LR, but if you want to be able to shoot at longer ranges you would be better off with any of the centerfire cartridges.
