Default H&R/ New England Firearms Ultra Slug Hunter Deluxe

Thinking about ordering a new toy. What does anyone think about the NEF Ultra Slug Hunter Deluxe in 20 gauge with laminate stock? Spoke to H&R/ NEF on the phone and the barrel is a 1 in 28" twist. Any input is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

It's a very accurate, high value gun. For the $ it's hard to not like them.

Exactly! I have one and for the money it absolutely can't be beat. Many people up here have them and they have very good results with Lightfields, as far as accuracy is concerned.

I have three 12 gauge slug guns, 2 Remington and one Mossberg + a muzzleloader to hunt deer with. These USH's have sparked my interest, I can't justify another slug gun. But, If I was in the market for a 20 gauge slug gun I've heard these things rock. Lots of info on these at the forum below. Check out what those members are saying about them.

Yeah, mine is a 20 as well. It's about as close as we'll get to hunting deer with a rifle in NJ.

Good to hear people like them. Can the triggers be adjusted at all? Mine should be here in a couple weeks. I can't wait to try out some loads in it. Probably gonna try the Hornady SST's, Winchester platnum tips, Remington corelokts or Lightfield Hybreds. Anyone suggest anything else? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if the triggers can be adjusted. I'm not sure I'd want to adjust it on mine. It's very crisp and if I had to guess, I'd say it broke at 3 to 5 pounds. Very nice for a hunting gun.

Yes the triggers can be adjusted, but I think only by the factory, but I'm not 100% sure on that
