Default Re-Thread a Factory barrel?

I found a nice take-off barrel from a Browning, can it be re-threaded to fit another action (700, Sako..)??

Thanks

I think some companies refurbish barrels from one brand and thread them for other actions...you'll have to talk to the experts on this one though

It can be done, but the cost may not justify the effort.

depends on the diameter of the threaded shank and what you are action you are trying to put it on. There are quite a few guys that used to do business on e-bay that would rethread a barrel (short headspace so you have to rechamber) for 30 to 50 bucks and then you had shipping on top of it. but yes a good smith with the proper tools could do it.

Nevermind, it ended up being a short 22lr barrel.
