Default Gunsmithing Question

I don't know if this is right forum for this but I'll try it anyway. I am being forced to take off from school for a year and have been looking at some online gunsmithing courses/mail in courses, my question is, are they worh the money, and which are best? I have a certificate in machine tool technology, and love guns so I figured I would try this out while I am waitingtillmed school to starts. Thanks for your help.

I would be surprised if anyone tells you they are anything other than a waste of time. I know lots of guys that work on guns, myself included, but very few what I would consider true gunsmiths.

I think that hands on experience would be more productive than online courses.

get a gun, and start working on it. Get books and read up. I do all my own work, with the machining background, you should be ok. Just read up on everything before you do it.
