I was looking at the savage weather warrrior in ss 30.06 caliber. Its priced good but wonder about the quality and reputations of savage guns.Any experiences with them?

There reputatoin is Ugly guns that are out of the box accurate. the other day i went threw all 90+ pages on this gun forumn and looked at savages and they ranked high in accuracy and reliablity just ugly compared to the more expensive winchesters/rugers/remingtons lol. however im told the weather warrior 16bss isnt a bad looking gun considered it myself in 270 wsm.

Since it looks like my first post on this thread didn't take I will try again. I own three Savage rifles. When I got the first one I thought to myself "darn this thing is ugly", but then I shot it and fell in love with the ugly thing. Best deal on the market for a dependable, accurate, workhorse rifle that you won't feel bad about toting through the briar patch. If I buy another bolt, it better be a Savage.

i own one. a savage scout 10FCM.in 308win and she shoots the best groups with peep sights that i have seen in a long time. currently i get 1/2" groups at 100yds using 150gr. nosler BT's

these rifles are ugly but i tell you this one of the best guns for accuracy wise for the price. even though i have had problems with there customer service and there extra magazines.
if i was on a really tight budget i would buy a savage over a remington. having a nice rifle presentation wise do not impress deer. only good talking material around the camp fire. they are also good " workhorse " guns.

Speaking of Savages, I just ordered a lamenate stock for my other Savage. Makes them look better and to me it makes them feel better. Richard's Microfit is where I get mine from. Takes a bit of sanding and you have to finish them yourself but the results are well worth it in my opinion. They leave enough wood on them so you can pretty much custom fit them to yourself. Not that I work for them or anything, just thought I would throw it out there since pretty much the only complaint I have ever heard on a Savage is the ugly stock.
