Default 1 to choose from?

Heres the situation:
You got lost out in the middle of nowhere and dont know what kind of game will be their. Heres the twist, you only have to choose from one gun to defend and provide food for yourself. What gun would that be?

Witha .22 you could carry alot of shells and though it might not be as good for defense you will more likely need it for food and the most likely game would be small game. A shotgun would be a close second though it would be harder to carry as many shells.

shotgun with shot. in this survival scenario, you'll see hunders or thousands of crows, bluejays, robins, squirrels and rabbits for each deer, elk or bear, and you could still defend yourself decently, as the fact is, very rarely do you need to shoot a predator to avoid being attacked. in a situation where i'd need to kill and eat the closest thing possible, I'd want to be able to hit birds, because I think they'd be among the first things to come by.

I chose the .243 its small and light enough to to carry all day, powerful enough to take out deer and elk if the occasion presents itself, yet small enough to hit a rabbit in the head without destroying "all" the meat.

I votede 270. Although a good 22 is a good choice as well. A guy could live a long time on small game.

I chose the 06, I would rather shoot a rabbit with an 06, that a bear with a .22

I'd go with the 22lr as well, as long as it's semi-auto and hope to hell that I don't run across a bear. You could carry tons of ammo with you so you could make it for a long time.

Definitely 22 rimfire because of the amount of ammunition that you can carry.

My vote went to "other" as the gun i depend on for 99% of my hunting wasn't listed, and it would be my number one choice!!!

I'd say my full time hunting gun has it "all" covered!
