Default Brown Bear Hunt?

I know this probably isn't the proper forum for this question, but this is where I hang out and post the most. Me and a buddy are considering a Brown Bear hunt in the near future; I was wondering if anyone here has a reccomendation for an outfitter, etc. We'd like to hunt the peninsula in alaska or kodiak.

This would also give me a good reason to buy my new "saber toothed chipmunk" gun as well.

I would check Jim Shockey's site out first and foremost, but the Brown Bear hunts are so out of my league i price that I have never even bothered researching them. [8D]

Yeah, they are out of our league as well. We both figured if we started saving now maybe by next year at this time we could both afford it the following year. If it continues snowing, I will be selling my snowmobile and that will be the start of my brown bear fund. I figure it would be well worth it to start researching now, so that when the time comes we can have it narrowed down to a few outfitters.

Check out Steves Outdoor Adventures, they seem pretty good. I'll find the website...

More than likely I will invest in a new piece of heavy artilery. I was thinking about trying out the new Ruger M77 Hawkeye Alaskan in 375 Ruger.

This is all in the planning stages at the moment, the rifle might happen soon though.

Man - good luck to you. Wish I could afford a brown bear hunt. I have a friend that took a nice one with one shot from his 300WSM. And I watch a video of my cousin shooting one 4 times (2 in each shoulder) at 75 yds with a 375 H&H. I guess it just depends on the bear. But IMO - the bigger the better and your choice of a 375 Ruger should do the trick.
If I ever do go I would probably take my 325WSM.
